Meg studied music
at Edinburgh University and Trinity College of
Music, London. In 2002, she won a Millennium award
through the Jewish Music Institute to study the
authentic performance of klezmer fiddle. When
studying classical violin with an Israeli teacher
in Berlin, she discovered the thriving German
Jewish music scene there. Meg now plays in several
other styles (including Arab, Turkish and Greek).
She has jammed with Roma musicians in Turkish
restaurants and Greek bazouki players on the Greek
island of Hydra; more formally, she has performed
with Nitin Sawhney, the Bombay Dub Orchestra,
Joglaresa, Oi Va Voi and as the fiddler in Fiddler
on the Roof at Sheffield’s Crucible
Theatre in 2006, which transferred to London’s
West End.
