 |
Jim Marcovitch bought
his first accordion in Romania when he was nineteen
and working for the aid organisation Orfan. He
studied music at Goldsmith’s College and
klezmer at the School of Oriental and African
Studies, both in London. He is also a member of
FDT Klezmorim and the comic melancholic trio Soup.
He has composed and performed for the Cycle Circus,
The Tower of Bagel at the Soho Theatre,
The Master and Margarita at the Battersea
Arts Centre, Pocketful of People at the
Laban Centre and Little Angel’s Broadway
hit The Mouse Queen. He was musical director
for The Fourth Gate at The National Theatre,
Cartoon de Salvo’s Sunflower Plot,
Mervyn Millar’s puppet show Baba Yaga, Punch
Drunk’s Masque of The Red Death
and Pocket the Clown, a musical he wrote
and directed at the Battersea Arts Centre.
